DIY: Beaded Square Knot Wrap Bracelet

Summer is ending, but that doesn’t mean you should stop accessorizing with brightly colored bracelets! These beaded bracelets are cute and easy to make – whether you’re making it yourself or it’s for an arts & crafts class for children.

ImageWhat you’ll need:

– Colourful, thin cording
– Beads (which the thin cording will fit through)
– Scissors
– Duct Tape
– Closures/clasps

First, take a thin, brightly colored cord and wrap it around your wrist 4 times.

ImageThen, cut it off using scissors. Do this step 3 more times so you have a total of 4 pieces of string. After, tie a knot at one end to secure the strings.

If needed, you can secure the string to a table using tape. Start stringing the beads onto the two middle strings with approximately 20 beads on each.

ImageSecure the two middle strings down so they’re relatively tight, and slide the beads down to the bottom.

ImageMove one bead up to the top, and make a square knot. To make a square knot, place the right string at an angle (in the form of a triangle), on top of the middle strings and underneath the left-most string. Take the left-most string and put it underneath the two middle strings and through the triangle on the right. Then, pull the two strings as if you were tying your shoelaces.Image

Repeat the steps until you’ve reached your desired length – don’t forget to alternate sides! Tie a knot to secure the bracelet.Image

Attach a closure/clasp to both ends, and cut off the excess string.
